The British Orienteering (BOF) is the officially recognised national governing body for the sport of orienteering in the United Kingdom. It was formed in June 1967, and became a company limited by guarantee in 1982. It is a Federation of 13 constituent associations one of which is SWOA.

Consequently, SWOA actively contributes to BOF affairs and provides representation on several BOF Committees. The current SWOA representatives are listed below.
